I was gonna start this article apologizing for not posting more on here… however I don’t really feel guilty about it. I mean seriously though, there’s only like one good show and 3 watchable one ? I don’t want to be the annoying brat complaining that everything sucks… but that’s pretty much the case isn’t it ?
Gin No Saji : This one will probably be my favourite anime this season… I expect it to explore interesting subject like where our food is coming from and what i’m I suppose to do with my life. Most people living in the city have completely dissociated food and animals. They often forget that the burger they’re eating was once a living thing. Being vegan, I think it’s important that people make the association between food and the killing of animal. After which they can make the decision of supporting or not supporting such industry. And as I too don’t really know what I want to do with my god danm life, I will take any advice from anywhere that might give me a hint.
Watashi ga Motenai no wa Dou Kangaetemo Omaera : I have a lot of issues with this anime and will probably drop it soon… It looks to me like it was written by a bunch of male who wanted to say a lot of sexist stuff behind the shield of being in the perspective of a female character. There’s a lot of slut shaming going on and a reverse good guy syndrome. According to her : She’s perfect, she’s awesome, she’s beautiful, she’s interesting and anyone saying other wise are idiots. While in fact she has issue and she’s far from being perfect, yet she think she’s entitle to be love and desired by everyone. If you want to be liked by people, maybe you should stop thinking that you’re so much better then them. While I agree that the good girl syndrome is not really a thing (I don’t want to be that dude being like look! girls are stupid too), I can’t help but to feel uncomfortable watching it. EDIT : In episode 4 she’s hoping to get rape in the train. Seriously ?
Free! : I still don’t have a good opinion on the swimming anime… the first 3 episodes were really good and they manage to stay entertaining even though we already watched that same story being made many times before. However the forth episode was kind of unfortunate, the shopping scene was really only there to have a bunch of half naked dude showing off. I’m not complaining because they were dudes (view my other post on Free!) but because the scene was really empty and useless. I do believe that Free! has a lot of potential and i’m really hoping that they live up to it. But whatever, if they don’t there’s always gonna be the second season of Kuroko No Basket in fall.
Shingeki no Kyojin : I very much enjoy the slower pace of the show. The first arc was so fast and had so much action that slowing it down and having more character development will definitely be interesting. The new opening is not as good as the first one, but hell… it was simply impossible to do better if you think about it. I wonder how many episodes/seasons of Shingeki no Kyojin are we gonna have ? This series has so much potential.
Space Brothers : I cried.
Kamisama no Inai Nichiyoubi : I’m not really fan of anything where a father would kick his daughter in the face for no reason… and anything that would start with the premiss that “god” created the earth. Also, maybe some people will love the art style but I just can’t stand it, too overwhelming.
Blood Lad : Is this suppose to be a comedy ? Because i’m not laughing.
